Q: Why are you prices seem to be lower than other shops out there?
A: We are a small 3 man shop and plan to keep it that way to make sure are quality is always top notch! Also we are in Detroit Area; the Detroit area is where 99% of the GM / FORD/ MOPAR'S where designed and built. 60% of the parts we use in are engines is within a 15-20 min drive. We don't have to pay heavy freight bills to ship parts in, It is pretty much all here in the Detroit area. Also all of us here a Detroit competition engineering are just normal hard working guy's. We also have all are equipment payed for and have very little overhead. Which makes it easier to be able to pass are savings on parts on to our customers.
Q: How long have you been in business?
A: Well me (the owner Paul Anthony Cuppetelli) started up back in the 1990's As Paul Anthony Race Engines OR PARE Racing Engines. After Being bought out in late 2007, I took a break for a year and went down to south Florida to get some sun:). In early 2009 I really wanted to start building engines again but could not find a job. So I took the dive and moved back up to Detroit, seeking to open A new shop called Detroit Competition Engineering. When got I back to Detroit, I got a new building and set up shop. Buying all the right equipment to make sure we produce a good quality product. Within 3 weeks of moving back I was set up and ready to go, A week later I found out that Roush Racing had laid off much of there top Nextel Cup engine builders. I now have one of the best working here in house as my top Builder. I feel we have A very qualified staff here At DCE I we hope you will give us a chance to show you what we are all about !!
